The long-awaited "from Lower Squankum" was scheduled for release w/
TorpedoTune Records, but citing 'artistic integrity' and the John Lennon
Rock & Roll album as precedent, Joe set fire to the seventy-two hours of
master recordings.
"Let's give 'em a little Ya-Ya," he said, destroying the tapes.

The personal relationships and financial agreements among the band
members had already dissolved in acrimony and chaos, and the entity
known as The Farkleberry Boys is now a legal fiction and de-facto liability.

The recordings were an archive of live mixes from The Lower Squankum
Radio Show appearances of
The Original Farkleberry Mountain Boys.
Included in the trove of unreleased material was the mythic and seldom
performed
Ghost Highway featuring the late Fud Farkle, an early 70's
version of their live staple
Webbed Feet, and a bluesy Jasper Shuffle, a
country version of which became the boys first top ten hit on the
Poorboy
label back in 1967.
